Far out, man! Colombia and coffee go together like peace and love, you dig? Coffee’s been grooving in Colombia since way back in the late 1700s, with the first commercial crop happening around 1808. But, when coffee first rolled in, the head honchos weren’t exactly feelin’ it, 'cause, like, it takes a while to grow those beans, man. But fast forward to 2011, and UNESCO made the coffee cultural landscape of Colombia a World Heritage site. Far out, right? Today, Colombia is one of the biggest coffee producers on the planet, known for its smooth, well-balanced brews that totally vibe with your soul.

Now, dig this—right in the heart of Colombia’s coffee belt, you’ve got the Oro Molido farms, chillin’ in the Central Andes. These farms are tucked into forested slopes with soil that’s rich in minerals, thanks to some long-gone volcanoes, man. It’s a magical mix of elevation, rain, and climate that makes the coffee here totally primo. And here’s the kicker—the farms are close to the equator, so they get not one, but *two* harvest seasons, man. Double the love!

Oro Molido is all about family, community, and good vibes, man. They take care of their people by offering free healthcare and education support, spreading the love through their foundation. They know that while origin matters, it’s the people that really make the magic happen. From pickers to management, they train everyone on the best practices to keep the good coffee flowing from seed to sip. Plus, they’ve got this groovy lab and are tight with the Colombian Coffee Federation, so they’re always dialed into growing coffee that’s consistent and high quality.

Now, let me tell you about these Gesha coffee trees—these things are tall, man, with long, elegant leaves and beans that are oval and funky-shaped, almost like little peaberries. Gesha coffee is out of this world, man. It’s got these delicate floral, jasmine, and peachy aromas that’ll blow your mind. The flavor is a wild trip of citrus and fruity notes. But here’s the deal—Gesha is super rare and needs just the right cosmic conditions to thrive. You’ll find it in places like Panama, Costa Rica, and, you guessed it, Colombia, grooving in those nutrient-rich, high-altitude soils.

Gesha’s story starts in Ethiopia, in the Gesha Village. But somewhere along the way, when the varietal landed in Costa Rica in 1953, folks started calling it ‘Geisha’ like the Japanese hostesses. Talk about lost in translation, man! Now the specialty coffee scene is trying to bring back the OG spelling—Gesha—out of respect for its Ethiopian roots. It’s all about honoring where the good stuff comes from, you dig?
