So, like, nestled in this groovy place called San Agustin Loxicha, in the righteous state of Oaxaca, there’s this rad coffee scene going on. They’re growing this Typica hybrid coffee, which was first vibed out in the area and totally named after the far-out city, San Hidalgo Pluma. Now, this Typica stuff originally sprouted up in Eastern Africa, but the version they’ve got going in Mexico, Typica Pluma, keeps that same sweet groove with caramel and chocolate vibes. Perfect for your daily cup, ya dig?
The scene here is all about community, man. Calguera Gomez, this far-out collective, works with 37 local, family-run farms. These farms are, like, small but mighty, man—most are between 10 to 24 acres, so they’re keeping it intimate. They’ve got these micro mills to process the coffee cherries, which means they’re super hands-on with the whole process, from depulping to fermenting and drying. It’s all about the details, man! The Calguera Gomez crew is helping local growers tune in to the best agricultural vibes, which means they can pay primo prices for some outta-sight coffee. It's a beautiful cycle of peace, love, and good beans!
